Feb. 13th - Get ready for some romance with our Wine and Chocolate Tasting. We'll try some lovely wines; bubbly, red and dessert that are a perfect match with chocolate. 12:30 pm The speaker series in our Supplement department has started. Feb. 13th - Elizabeth Gallway and Connie Byrne, Reflexologists. The women will discuss this practice and it's many uses and demonstrate Facial Reflexology. Feb. 20th - Dr. Charles Lefler, MD - "Are you like Oprah?" Feb. 23rd 6pm - Gary Massey. "Hope for Autism through a Gluten and Casein Free diet". Gary is a retired local psychologist and has a great deal of experience in this subject. Feb. 27th - Dr. Glenn Ingram, N.D. Cholesterol and your Health March 4th 6pm - Judy Lynn Ray, "Introduction to Aromatherapy". Learn about this fascinating subject that is being used in many forms of healing and therapy. March 6th - Dr. Marty Ingram, N.D - Acid Reflux: The Whole Story (this program begins at 10am instead of 11) March 13th - Kelly Toms from Lotus Path will speak on Neurological Integration which is a new approach to healthcare that uses neurological circuitry of the brain. Assessment of the brain, not the mind, to determine disorganization with the body can address the real underlying issues, not just symptoms. March 20th - Bruce Ladd, a doctor in acupuncture and Chinese medicine will speak about chronic pain issues including fibromyalgia, tendentious and trauma. March 27th - Karen Sanders, RN will talk about several new programs at Transylvania Regional Hospital that are exploring alternative therapies that can be used in a traditional setting. New programs in Healing Touch, Aroma therapy and the use of therapy dogs have all been started. Check out our Hot Grill Menu. Choices include house ground beef burgers, marinated FreeBird Chicken Sandwiches, a Brat with the works, Fish Tacos, a Veggie Burger, a grilled Pimento Cheese & bacon sandwich and salads with grilled salmon or chicken. We have local burgers from Busy Bee Farms here in Transylvania County and Carolina Bison Burger. Don't miss our house made french fries (we often hear they are the best in all of Brevard and beyond). Poppies is a great place for DINNER!! We serve our lunch menu every day for dinner. Feel free to open a beer or a bottle of wine and relax with your meal in the beautiful garden, the deli cafe or the tables upstairs. Check out the Grab & Go meals next to the prepared foods case when you need a great home cooked meal but don't have the time or energy to do it yourself. Poppies has invited the local Autism Support Group to meet at the store for their monthly gatherings. It will be the last Tuesday of each month at 8:30am. If it's nice, they'll meet in the garden, otherwise, upstairs in the supplement department. Gift Baskets; We've got a whole grocery store full of the finest treats to take care of the pickiest ones on your list. Each Tuesday - Poppies celebrates our Seniors.
